"No dia 22 de Abril de 2010 uma “native speaker” – Helen Coelho natural do Sul de África veio à biblioteca da escola EBI/JI da Barranha – falar sobre a escola.
Helen Coelho veio à nossa escola às 14:30 no dia 22 de Abril. Os alunos do 7.ºano (turmas A e B) fizeram-lhe algumas perguntas sobre a sua vida e sobre a escola do seu tempo. Ela é avó do Nicolaas (do 7.ºA) e foi muito simpática em vir visitar a nossa escola e falar sobre si.
Helen nasceu na África do Sul e vive em Portugal há 22 anos. De momento está a viver em Viseu, em Vila Nova de Paiva. Por um lado, gosta de viver em Portugal, porque é calmo, mas por outro lado, não gosta por causa do clima. A sua comida portuguesa preferida é “feijoada”. Adora animais e é muito boa em natação, na verdade ela já ganhou imensas medalhas nesta modalidade e deu aulas de natação em Portugal.
Ela costumava ir para a escola a pé, porque era perto da sua casa. Estudava Matemática, Inglês, Geografia, História… de manhã das 7:30 às 13:30. Não havia aulas à tarde (por causa do calor) só havia actividades desportivas."

"On the 22nd, April 2010 a “native speaker”-Helen Coelho- from South Africa came to the library of E.B.I./J.I. da Barranha – speaking about school.
Helen Coelho came to our school at 14:30 on the 22nd April. The students from the 7th form (classes A and B) asked her some questions about her life and her school days. She is Nicolaas’s grandmother (from the 7th A) and she was very kind to visit our school to talk about herself.
She was born in South Africa and she has been living in Portugal for 22 years. Now she is living in Viseu, Vila Nova de Paiva. On one hand she likes living in Portugal, because it is calm but on the other hand she doesn’t like it, because of the weather. Her favourite Portuguese food is “Feijoada”. She loves animals and she is keen on swimming, in fact she won lots of medals in this sport and she gave swimming lessons in Portugal.
She used to walk to school, because it was very near from her house. She studied Mathematics, English, Geography, History… in the morning from 7:30 a.m. till 13:30 p.m.. There weren’t any lessons in the afternoon: they only played sports. "
